Coming off a dominant win over D.C. United, New York City F.C. looked to keep their momentum going with a win today over the Montréal Impact.
Manager Patrick Vieira sought continuity, putting out the same starting eleven as last week.
From the start, the Blues controlled the tempo of the game. Time and again, they drove at the Impact goal, trying to stake an early lead and put Montréal on the ropes in the same fashion they did D.C. United.
But it wasn’t meant to be. Jack Harrison missed a golden opportunity in the early minutes of the match; and missed opportunities haunted New York City throughout.
