New York City FC coach Patrick Vieira finally ended a month-long saga of speculation Sunday with the news he will be leaving the club after agreeing to become the next coach of French side Nice in Ligue 1, City Football Group announced.
Vieira, who had been linked for weeks to a coaching move abroad, managed his last game for NYCFC on Saturday in a 1-1 draw against Atlanta United at Yankee Stadium.
“I would like to thank City Football Group and New York City FC for the opportunity to have coached this tremendous football club,” Vieira said in a release.
