NYCFC’s Jonathan Lewis may finally get his opportunity

New York City FC hasn’t given up on Jonathan Lewis.

Despite the talented young winger not grabbing a single minute through NYCFC’s first 13 matches, sporting director Claudio Reyna preached patience — and said opportunities for Lewis will come soon.

“We’re happy with him,” Reyna told The Post. “We still believe in him and he’s a big talent. It’s a learning experience when you don’t play — it’s a big learning experience for a young player to go through, but it’s those times that will make you and you’ll learn and fight through.”

In 11 matches last season, four in which he started, Lewis was typically used as a second-half substitute where he notched two goals and an assist in 342 total minutes.
