After the sixth-seeded New York Red Bulls absolutely thrashed the third-seeded Chicago Fire 4-0 at Toyota Park on Wednesday night, all New York City FC fans turned their attention to the knockout round showdown between Atlanta United and the Columbus Crew to find out who the Boys in Blue would meet in the two-legged Eastern Conference semifinals.
Despite Atlanta’s near immaculate home record, it was Columbus that had their hands raised in victory after defeating the Five Stripes 3-1 in penalties after 120 minutes of scoreless play.
