Saturday night’s 2-0 victory over second tier Danish club HB Køge was a night of experimentation for coach Patrick Vieira. The match started with several trial players in the starting eleven that included Romain Gall, Ivan Ivanov, Shannon Gomez and newly acquired left back Diego Martinez. This may have seemed like a game that didn’t mean much, but for players that are on Vieira’s fence of who will stay and who will go, this was a very important opportunity.
The match started with Vieira’s 4-3-3 formation, but throughout the match the formations changed several times, even seeing a 3 man defensive line for a nice portion.
