At the age of 34, NYCFC goalkeeper Josh Saunders isn’t doing so bad. It was announced yesterday that both parties have agreed on a multi-year deal that will keep Saunders in New York, due to league policy, the terms were not disclosed. After a stellar inaugural season, there was no way NYCFC was going to let Saunders slip through their fingers, a smart move on their part.
The Puerto Rican native has been around the MLS since 2002 after 12 years, he’s finally reached the top. Despite the club’s disappointing performance not reaching the playoffs, Saunders was absolutely unstoppable and was by far, NYCFC’s top defensive player.
