The fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is upon us, which means that MLS clubs are finally eligible to begin competing. And to nobody’s surprise, New York City FC drew a familiar foe in the New York Red Bulls.
The match between the two rival clubs is scheduled to take place at Red Bull Arena on either June 5 or 6, and will mark the second time the two clubs have faced each other in Open Cup competition. The two’s first Open Cup matchup occurred last year, in which the Red Bulls defeated the Bronx Blues 1-0 after the latter constantly missed chances and lost Maxi Moralez to injury in the first half.
