This morning, NYCFC revealed its plans for a Girls Soccer Academy that will launch over the coming weeks and months. Teams will compete at the Under-14, U-15, U-16/17, and U-18/19 levels, operating out of the Orangeburg, New York facilities of World Class FC, a current affiliate in New York City FC’s youth system.
Last year, Orangeburg was named as the future site of a permanent NYCFC training facility. The senior club currently trains at SUNY Purchase.
Additionally, NYCFC stated plans for a relationship between the Girls Academy and the US Soccer Development Academy.
“This is a significant moment in the history of our club as NYCFC make a commitment to girls soccer and announce an Academy which we believe will contribute to the bright future of the women’s game in the tri-state area,” Sporting Director Claudio Reyna said in today’s official press release.
