An impeccable Jack Harrison cross found a soaring Khiry Shelton for a headed equalizer in the 78th minute as New York City FC drew FC Dallas Saturday evening at Yankee Stadium, 2-2.
A Bronx crowd of 25,204 watched Tommy McNamara pounce on an opening goal only to see FC Dallas surge ahead through Maxi Urruti (20’) and Michael Barrios (52’).
But thanks to some late heroics from a couple of NYCFC’s youngest lads, the league-leading visitors — fresh of a U.S. Open Cup title Tuesday night — wouldn’t have the last laugh.
“The moment I saw Jack had the ball, I knew I had to get into the box,” Shelton said after the match.
