Jurgen Klinsmann's roster for the U.S. Men's National Team's first activities in 2016 includes plenty of regulars, but it's the new boys that have us most excited.
And here in the Five Boroughs, the bulk of the elation will center upon the most unlikely call-up of all.
New York City forward Khiry Shelton will join Mix Diskerud and a host of hot Major League Soccer commodities in the U.S. camp alongside the traditional Michael Bradleys and Jozy Altidores of the world.
While Diskerud has been a mainstay in USMNT circles throughout Klinsmann's tenure with the team, Shelton's call is a pleasant surprise.
