There’s nothing more cool than see one of New York City FC’s own play a huge role in their nation’s success. What’s even cooler is when it’s one of their kids.
After a slow start which saw the United State’s U-17 in an early 2-0 hole against the always dangerous Brazil, the Young Yanks pulled even with goals by way of Griffin Yow and Alfonso Ocampo Chavez. Then, late in the second half, NYCFC’s newest Homegrown Player Joe Scally gave the US a 3-2 advantage on a penalty that turned out to be the game-winner.
Not only does this bode well for Scally’s reputation as a professional footballer, it is also a great help to the USMNT U-17’s who are fresh off a bitter defeat at the hands of England in the 2018 International Youth Tournament.
