A bit late to the party on this, but better late than never.
After New York City FC drafted goalkeeper Luis Barraza in the first round of this year’s MLS SuperDraft, the writing was on the wall for third-choice keeper Jeff Caldwell. Not helping his cause was the fact that he didn’t have a glorious preseason, conceding two goals (both saveable) in his only televised friendly outing against FC Copenhagen.
A few days ago, the club announced that Caldwell will be going on loan to USL expansion team Memphis 901 for the duration of the 2019 season.
