New York City FC center-back Jason Hernandez received a call up to the Puerto Rican National Team on Tuesday.
This call up comes ahead of the Gold Cup qualifying that takes place over this international break. The team plays Guyana on March 29th in Puerto Rico. While Hernandez has denied an invitation to play for the squad back in 2009, the 32-year old will take his chances this time.
This could possibly be the first international cap for the Seton Hall graduate. Hernandez’s last call up came in 2009 with the United States Men’s National Team, but with the training squad.
