New York City FC midfielder Frank Lampard was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for the 26th week of the 2016 MLS season.
On a night that NYCFC and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio celebrated Lampard’s 300 career goals, the English icon added to his already impressive tally, scoring two late goals to give NYCFC a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over D.C. United at Yankee Stadium. Lampard has been on a tear over the last three months, now ranking in the top 10 league wide after scoring all 11 of his tallies in the previous 13 matches.
