His absence from the lineup — and Rodney Wallace’s persistence in it — has perplexed and frustrated Pigeons fans. We’ll see if he’s sufficiently out of manager Patrick Vieira’s doghouse to actually make an appearance on the field.
Defensive stalwart Maxime Chanot is missing tonight’s game for “personal reasons”. Sebastian Ibeagha takes his place in the backline. Ben Sweat gets the start over Ronald Matarrita at left back, with the Costa Rican absent from the 18-man roster. This is presumably for rotation and health reasons.
