Josh Saunders has started and played in 16 NYCFC matches in 2016. The Oregon Native has made 43 saves this season, while recording a 58% saves/shots ratio. Saunders has also collected two clean sheets this season.
In Week Four, Saunder’s save against the New England Revolution was nominated for Save of the Week. The save kept the score level and allowed NYCFC to draw the Revolution.
Facing the defending champion Portland Timbers in Week 11, Saunders made a phenomenal save, allowing NYCFC to pull off a 2-1 win.
