First thing this morning I penned an article talking about Saints head coach Sean Payton and owner Gayle Benson being at the NFL owners’ meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona and the grief they were giving the entire NFL, from Roger Goodell to the other owners, coaches, the NFL Players Association over rules changes. All they were looking for were common sense changes to reviews of pass interference calls and non-calls. As the sun goes down, there’s a smell of victory in the air at least over that.
The NFL owners voted on a resolution today to make changes to the rulebook that will allow coaches to challenge pass interference calls or non-calls on a one-year trial basis.
