The 2021 NFL draft is months away, and while the New Orleans Saints are scheduled to make their first pick at No. 28 overall, there’s no guarantee that they’ll stand pat there. They have a history of making trades; New Orleans didn’t own a first-round pick in 2019 after trading it to move up in 2018, and they acquired extra selections in both 2017 and 2015 by making pre-draft moves. It’s anyone’s guess what they do (or don’t do) in 2021.
Still, it’s worth noting which players have entered the league at this slot in the past. The Saints have only made a pick here once in the last 28 drafts, and that was when they traded up to get Mark Ingram back in 2011.
