As television and other revenues soar, the NFL salary cap keeps growing -- up to a reported $155 million in 2016.
So why are free agents re-signing with their current teams before hitting the free-agent market?
Several experts say players who are patient will reap the rewards of a market flush with cash.
"Give or take, there will be $1 billion in salary-cap space available when the market opens on March 9," ESPN's Kevin Seifert wrote this week. "That's a massive and unprecedented number, enough to pay the rosters of six full teams and an amount that will gift market-blowing contracts to the second- and third-tier players typically available.
