If one thought the preseason performances of imports such as Manti Te’o, A.J. Klein and draft pick Alex Anzalone left the New Orleans Saints satisfied with their linebackers, think again.
On Monday, the club signed five-year veteran Audie Cole, per Herbie Troupe of the Times-Picayune.
Cole was released this past Saturday after signing a two-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars this past offseason. In years past, being cut by Jacksonville would carry a stigma to it, but the Jaguars have been stocking up on defensive talent and their linebacker group is no exception.
There may be some value in what they choose to discard this season.
