The Saints continued to tweak the depth chart at running back on Wednesday, July 18, with the addition of former Giant Shane Vereen. To make room on the roster, the Saints waived running back Daniel Lasco who may return at some point on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Not much should be read into the move. This isn’t due to anybody on the roster not looking like they’ll be able to fill in when Mark Ingram is serving his four-game suspension. There was simply room on the roster with Lasco being waived and Vereen was the next man up.
