The New Orleans Saints (9-3) secured a big win over the division rival Carolina Panthers (8-4) after cruising to a 31-21 victory inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. It was a must win affair for the Saints who were coming off a loss to the Los Angeles Rams, as they needed to get back into the win column to keep pace in the powerhouse NFC Conference.
The victory was due in large part to the performances of running backs Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara, who combined for 248 yards from scrimmage and three total touchdowns. Their performances helped New Orleans secure the lead, and from that point, a stingy defense limited the Panthers to only 279 total yards throughout the game.
