New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees delivered a passionate speech to the Purdue football team Friday night, one day before the Boilermakers played host to No. 7 Wisconsin.

Brees, who played for Purdue from 1997 to 2000, recalled wins over nationally ranked Kansas State, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State during his years at the school.

"Some of my greatest memories as a Boilermaker came when we beat top-10 teams when they tried to walk in here," he said.

Brees remembered how he was part of a recruiting class ranked last in the Big Ten, and how that class helped Purdue win the conference title in 2000.
