New Orleans Saints wide receiver Cameron Meredith had to wait a bit for his first career catch in black and gold, but he made it worth waiting for. Meredith scored from 11 yards out when the Saints needed it most, taking the lead over the Atlanta Falcons at 23-21.
The scoring play was set up by the Saints special teams unit blocking a punt and recovering it deep in Falcons territory – props to defensive end Alex Okafor and linebacker Craig Robertson on winning the turnover. This is the third time the Saints have blocked and recovered a Falcons punt, following iconic plays from Steve Gleason and Michael Mauti earlier in the series’ history.
