METAIRIE, La. -- Cameron Jordan was right.
This past summer, after a season in which the New Orleans Saints defensive end was not named to the Pro Bowl and then left off the NFL Network and ESPN top-100 player lists, he tweeted the following:
Wake up a sleeping giant this yr! That is all https://t.co/dC7200VTuy
As I wrote in August, my first thought was, "Cameron Jordan's been sleeping?! How much better can he be?"
Well, 2017 was his answer.
Jordan was named a first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press for the first time in his seven-year career Friday -- becoming the first Saints player to earn that honor since tight end Jimmy Graham in 2013.
