Don’t look now, but New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan has put himself within reach of the team’s all-time sacks record. Sure, he’s still two or three years away from toppling legendary Saints linebacker Rickey Jackson (115 sacks), but Jordan’s 87 takedowns rank second-best in team history.
But the fact of the matter is that Jordan has a real shot at claiming one of the greatest titles a player can earn in the NFL. Jackson accomplishing that helped get him into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
While sacks were not recorded in the stats books until 1982 (Jackson’s second year in the NFL), there’s still a strong list of Saints in their top-20.
