It's all quiet on the Drew Brees contract front.
When asked if there has been any progress toward a new deal with the New Orleans Saints, Brees' agent Tom Condon told the Rich Eisen Show that the Saints "seem to be satisfied with carrying" Brees' $30 million salary-cap figure for now.
Brees is in the final year of his five-year, $100 million contract. Brees has consistently said that he wants to retire a Saint, but that deadlines usually spur action in such negotiations and there is no real deadline in place.
"At one point New Orleans wanted to talk about a cap redo and Drew was more than happy to do that," Condon said -- likely referencing the Saints' unsuccessful pursuit of free-agent cornerback Josh Norman last month.
