A sadness falls over the entire New Orleans organization on Thursday, as team owner Tom Benson has passed away at the age of 90. A self-made billionaire, Benson also owned the NBA’s Pelicans, as he became the central sports figure in his hometown of New Orleans.
He had been battling the flu for some time, and sadly succumbed to the illness.
