Thomas Morstead named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month

Thomas Morstead has accomplished a lot in his lengthy NFL career. He’s in his eleventh season with the New Orleans Saints after they drafted him out of SMU, way back in 2009. As a rookie, the Saints tasked him with executing the famous “Ambush” onside kick after halftime during Super Bowl XLIV. Now, as a 33-year old, Morstead is the longest-tenured Saints player besides Drew Brees (who’s sitting out while recovering from injury).

And on Thursday, Morstead was recognized by the NFL as the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month, the first time he’s earned that award in his career.
