NEW ORLEANS -- In the same building where Chris Webber infamously called a timeout that he didn’t have in the NCAA basketball championship game, another Michigan team got away with doing the same thing in the Superdome on Monday night.
The Detroit Lions called for a fourth timeout with three seconds remaining in the first half Monday night, while the New Orleans Saints were trying to score from the 1-yard line.
But the officials essentially ruled that it was no harm, no foul, since the play was whistled dead just as the ball was being snapped.
