Teddy Bridgewater says he apologized to Dennis Allen after beating Jaguars

New Orleans Saints quarterback Teddy Bridgewater didn’t have his best game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. He struggled with ball placement throughout the day, often throwing too high for even his tallest receivers to have a chance at reeling in a catch. Between a well-thought-out defensive approach by Jacksonville and Bridgewater’s own issues coming through in critical situations (the Saints went 5-for-13 on third down), a lot of pressure was put on Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen and his unit. Fortunately, they responded in the 13-6 victory. And Bridgewater made sure to thank him.

“I apologized to (Allen) today right after the game,” Bridgewater said during his postgame press conference, “and told him ‘I’m sorry, I don’t want to have to put you in that situation where you’re having to fight all game and we’re making it hard on you,’ but hats off to the defense.
