Tight end Juwan Johnson has agreed to a three-year contract to re-sign with the New Orleans Saints, agent AJ Vaynerchuk announced on social media Tuesday.
Johnson, 28, had a foot issue last summer that required surgery and caused him to miss most of training camp with the Saints. He returned for the start of the season and played all 17 games, catching a career-high 50 passes and three touchdowns.
Johnson signed with New Orleans as a 2020 undrafted rookie free agent wide receiver out of Oregon. Former Saints coach Sean Payton made the decision to switch him to tight end in 2021 after Johnson caught only four passes as a rookie wideout.
