CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bears have signed New Orleans Saints restricted free agent tight end Josh Hill to an offer sheet, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates.
The Saints tendered the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Hill at the lowest restricted free-agent level.
New Orleans has five days to match Chicago's offer, or lose Hill without receiving any compensation.
The Saints could let Hill walk since they signed tight end Coby Fleener to a five-year, $36 million contract and re-signed veteran backup Michael Hoomanawanui. New Orleans also entered the week with a league-low $1.
