New Orleans Saints cornerback Damian Swann was arrested at 2:17 a.m. Friday in Athens, Georgia, and charged with reckless driving and speeding, according to a police report provided to The Advocate by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
Swann was released on $2,000 cash bond from the Clarke County Jail at 4:13 a.m., according to the jail’s online records.
According to Georgia law, the maximum penalty for reckless driving is a fine up to $1,000 and up to 12 months in jail.
Swann, a fifth-round pick by the Saints in 2015, was arrested for driving 100 mph in a 65-mph zone by officer Vincent Schill, who initially recorded Swann’s 2016 Jaguar XF S driving 81 mph and then recorded him increasing to 100 mph as he passed another vehicle.
