PONTIAC, MI - The Pontiac Silverdome isn't going quietly. But it will go eventually, a demolition team promises.
After a brief ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 3, officials and spectators watched outside the historic stadium as charges blew out some of the support beams on the structure in an effort to have its upper deck collapse.
It didn't go as planned. The charges fired but the stadium withstood the blasts.

Update: a previous version of this story reported the beams would collapse by the end of the day.
