New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton said after practice Tuesday that the trade for Philadelphia's Jon Dorenbos solves the long snapper situation.
The Saints have had Jesse Schmitt, rookie Chase Dominguez, Thomas Gafford and Justin Drescher throughout the preseason. Drescher is still on the roster but was not at practice Tuesday.
New Orleans sent a 2019 seventh-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for Dorenbos who Payton said will play in Thursday's preseason matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
Dorenbos has spent the past 10 seasons with the Eagles and Payton said that experience will be important to the Saints who enter their second year with Wil Lutz.
