New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton confirmed that his team will take an extended stay on the West Coast early in the 2019 NFL regular season — preferably in Washington, not California. The change of plans was first reported by Josh Katzenstein of the Times-Picayune.
Payton was a starring figure at the Zurich Classic charity golf match, in which he teamed up with former Baltimore Ravens safety and Destrehan, Louisiana native Ed Reed against a team composed of Saints kicker Wil Lutz and ESPN sportscaster Chris Berman. Payton and Reed won by three strokes, awarding $10,000 to two charities of their choice.
