New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton enjoyed huge success in his first year on the job, way back in 2006. And he credited much of it to the players on that team — specifically two of them seated at his side during a press conference to announce their induction to the Saints Hall of Fame. The press conference was broadcast live on the Saints team website.
“As a young coach, there’s certain breaks you need,” Payton said, beckoning to former running back Reggie Bush and former wide receiver Marques Colston. Bush was his team’s first draft pick that season, selected second-overall.
