Former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray turned the NFL Draft on its head when he passed on a baseball career with the Oakland Athletics. He answered some questions and raised others after nailing NFL Scouting Combine weigh-ins (measuring 5-foot-10, 207-pounds) but opting to wait for the Sooners’ March 13 pro-day to throw and go through athletic testing.
But he has a supporter in New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton. The Super Bowl XLIV champion praised the reining Heisman Trophy winner during an appearance on NFL Network:
“Well I think having seen four games now, just an early exposure, you don’t feel that (height) being a deficiency when you watch him play.
