Defensive tackle Nick Fairley’s absence from voluntary organized team activities was recently revealed to be due to a pre-existing heart condition through which he’s played the majority of his football career. To date little has been known about Fairley’s condition. But Payton shed some light on the situation today.
Speaking on Fairley’s status Payton had this to say:
Right now, where it’s at … he’s gotten two professional opinions. The first one was one where he was advised he shouldn’t play football again. The second opinion was a little different. He’s getting a third opinion or has already gotten a third opinion.
