WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. -- At 5-foot-7, 168 pounds, Tommylee Lewis is easily the smallest player on the New Orleans Saints' roster. But he was making some of the biggest plays on the field Thursday at training camp.
And coach Sean Payton said he has routinely been taking notice of the undrafted rookie receiver from Northern Illinois.
“Listen, he’s one of those free agents that every day, there’s something he’s done -- one thing, two things to open your eye,” Payton said of Lewis, who scored one touchdown on an end-around while lining up with the first-string offense in a full-contact, red-zone drill, caught at least one TD pass and made at least two other grabs in another red-zone drill.
