The New Orleans Saints hit the practice field at the team’s home facility Sunday for the first time during this training camp. The workout came less than 24 hours removed from the Saints' second preseason game. Temperatures were in the mid-90s. Here are some observations:
1. To help get his players re-acclimated to the climate, Coach Sean Payton had his team in helmets only. It was certainly a lighter practice being the day after a game, too. I will say the practice was a lot more involved than I thought it would be. Payton said his team handled things alright, and looks forward to a very important week starting after an off day Monday.
