It’s turning into a big training camp for New Orleans Saints safety Saquan Hampton. Hampton seized his moment during Sunday night’s practice at Tulane University’s Yulman Stadium, leaping skyward to intercept quarterback Drew Brees. Of course it happened to be one of the few interceptions Brees has thrown through a week-plus of training camp.
It was the second interception in as many practices for the rookie, a Rutgers Scarlet Knights product. Hampton is doing what every team hopes its new acquisitions are able to do; he’s absorbing information through film study and applying what he’s learned to the field.
