METAIRIE, La. -- The New Orleans Saints announced the signing of three tryout players from this past weekend, including two former sixth-round draft picks.
They signed offensive tackle Tyrus Thompson (a sixth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2015), linebacker Tony Steward (a sixth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2015) and undrafted rookie wide receiver Jake Lampman from Ferris State.
To make room on their roster, the Saints made some mildly surprising cuts. They waived quarterback Griffin Neal, whom they had signed earlier this year after a 2015 stint playing in Germany.
