The New Orleans Saints aren’t finished tweaking their depth chart. Just hours after setting the 53-man roster on Saturday, they traded for Miami Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso and added a few promising prospects (running back Taquan Mizzell, offensive lineman John Leglue, and defensive lineman Mitchell Loewen) to the practice squad. A few days later, they brought in 11 free agents at various positions for group workouts. While none of them have signed with the Saints yet, it’s crystal-clear that New Orleans is considering all options in hopes of improvement.
Mike Triplett of ESPN reported that the group included running backs, tight ends, and linebackers, with one familiar name in former Saints seventh-round draft pick Marcus Murphy.
