During Monday night’s season opener with the Vikings, right tackle Zach Strief went down after having his leg rolled up on. Yesterday, tests revealed that he had suffered an MCL sprain and would be sidelined for 3-4 weeks.
For the rest of the game Monday night, backup guard Senio Kelemete filled in. The Saints had no backup tackle available on the roster other than Andrus Peat who is already starting at left guard. Kelemete has played at tackle before but it’s not his natural position and he, honestly, doesn’t have the frame or quickness for it.
