The New Orleans Saints ended their 2018 preseason on a big, positive note by dropping an unanswered 28 points on the Los Angeles Rams.
Sure, no starters played on either side. But the Rams will return to New Orleans in two months on Nov. 4, and the depth the Saints boast up and down the roster should come into play later on down the line.
It was a dominant performance from the defense. Rookie defensive end Marcus Davenport saw his only sack – and subsequent forced fumble returned for a touchdown by defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth – wiped off the board by an unrelated penalty, but he was impactful all night.
