The New Orleans Saints completed what feels like a scheduled transaction on Jan. 2, releasing former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett from their practice squad. Nick Underhill of the Advocate first reported the release. This was, presumably, the corresponding move to the return of rookie defensive lineman Henry Mondeaux.
It was also the 11th time Barrett tested waivers for the 2018 NFL season, and his 22nd transaction on the year since signing with the Saints after the 2018 NFL Draft. Check the full timeline:
