The New Orleans Saints made what’s become a routine roster move on Wednesday, Jan. 16, waiving rookie quarterback J.T. Barrett from the practice squad. Barrett was released to make room for wide receiver Paul Turner, according to a report from Nick Underhill of the Advocate.
Turner previously spent time on the Saints’ 90-man summer roster in 2018, only to be waived shortly after the start of training camp. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017, and was briefly with the New England Patriots after being waived by New Orleans.
