New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton indicated in his training camp opening press conference that just two players will receive the Physically Unable to Play designation: tight end Michael Hoomanawanui and wide receiver Brandon Coleman.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport first reported last night that Saints wide receiver Coleman would begin training camp with an active/PUP designation, allowing team doctors to continue to monitor his condition while keeping the door open for him to begin practicing with the team. Hoomanawanui’ status is is still unclear.
The good news is multiple players who missed time to injuries in OTA’s are cleared for action.
